The Rubber Tubing Effect

I went to SM a while ago to go shopping! Not the t-shirt-pants-shoes shopping but a very obligatory laboratory materials shopping. I went to buy vials, labels, pipets, rubber tubing, tissue, test tubes, blah blah blah... How dreadful.

So I asked this NBS salesgirl for things.

ME: Miss, meron ba kayong rubber tubing?
SG: Ha? Ano yun?
ME: Ahhh.. Parang tube na gawa sa rubber.
SG: Haa. Wala kami nun eh. Yan lang ang tube na meron. [pointing to test TUBES]
ME: OK. Meron kayong goggles?
SG: Ito oh. [sabay abot ng goggles]
ME: [quite shocked to find out that goggles are being sold at Php 9.75 and deep-down happy that I'm getting it at a very cheap price] Miss, 9.75 lang ang goggles?!
SG: Ay! [both hands raised - like she was holdup-ed] Sino naman ang naglagay nito!
-- Edi pineel off na niya yung presyo ng isa at dinikit dun sa pinili ko. --
ME: Eh Miss, meron kayong pasteur pipets?
SG: [looking dumb and eyes glaring] Ano na NAMAN yun?
ME: Hehe.. [thinking that she has the joking mood] Parang dropper na gawa sa glass.
SG: Sorry po sir. Wala eh. [with a look of "Ano naman ang pinagsasabi ng batang to?"]

Ayun. I wish I was not that honest to ask her if the goggle's price was true. Wala lang. I felt I was highly intellectual to know such things. Lalo na nung naghanap ako sa department store ng rubber tubing.

ME: Miss, meron kayong rubber tubing?
SG: Ano po?
ME: Rubber tubing.
SG: Ano ho yun?
ME: Parang tube na gawa sa rubber.
-- She asked the manager nearby --
Manager: Rubber tubing? Ano yun?
ME: Parang tube na gawa sa rubber. [nakukulitan na]
MA: Saan ginagamit yun?
ME: Sa laboratory.
-- And I felt the "woooo" glare of the salesmen nearby. --

HAHAHA! Anyway, rubber tubing is the tube that the Institute of Chemistry uses to attach the bunsen burners to gas pipes. And still, I failed to buy one. Saan ba nakakabili nun?!

Conclusion: If you want to avail an aura of intelligence, search for a rubber tubing at SM.
